Learn With Us as always been our focus.  We strive to expand our own education to better serve our members and the conservation community.  Our board of directors consists of:

Canadian Soldier On Program

Through fundraising initiatives the NS Women That Hunt has supported the Canadian Soldier On program with donations totally $13,000

Conservation Bursary

The Conservation Bursary is designed to acknowledge youth who have adopted and applied a sense of conservation into their lives.   To date the NS Women That Hunt have presented $10,000 in awards to South Colchester Academy graduating students.

Education

Since 2017 120 individuals have been certified with their Canadian Firearms Safety Course and Hunter's Education Courses through WTH courses, included Water'n Woods.   2019 was the first year we introduced the Trapper's course and 21 students were certified. 

Since 2017 the Water'n Woods program has been funded by the NS Habitat Conservation Fund.

The Youth Expo

In 2016 54 vendors inspired 1,100 individuals during the first Youth Expo.  In 2017, 81 vendors inspired 3, 200 individuals.   In 4 years 326 vendors have inspired 12,010 individuals. 

The Youth Expo has been supported by the Municipality of the County of Colchester, the NS Habitat Conservation Fund, the NS Health Authority, corporate sponsors and local businesses

2016 Recipient of the NSFA&H Presidents Award (awarded to the association judged to be the most successful in promoting wildlife conservation among youth.)

2017 Recipient of the NSFA&H Vice Presidents Award (awarded to the association that best promotes the objectives of the Nova Scotia Federation of Anglers and Hunters.)

2018 Recipient of the NSFA&H Presidents Award

2018 Nominated for the Canada Volunteer Awards as Social Innovator

2018 Nominated in the Excellence in Community development Award category for the Truro and Colchester Chamber of Commerce's Small Business Awards program.
